Godolphin-bred mare Eastern Whisper (6/4f — 5/2f) justified a nice reputation to score on debut today, landing Punchestown's concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Bumper for trainer Sonny Carey, champion amateur jockey Patrick Mullins and Syndicates Racing.

By Sea The Stars and from a smart Flat family, Eastern Whisper was sold unraced for 28,000gns as a three-year-old to syndicate manager Jack Cantillon, and while making a belated debut today, showed good ability in scoring a battling three-parts of a length success from experienced Shuil Solas .

Kilcullen, Co Kilare-based Carey reported “it's great to get a winner for Syndicates Racing, I think she'll improve from today and might go to Willie Mullins' after this. We'll see what happens.

“She's a lovely straightforward filly, travels well and has plenty of gears. Patrick (Mullins) said she took a while to pull up, so wasn't falling in a hole. For a Flat-bred filly, she stays well."
