Going update

The ground at Thurles ahead of their meeting on Thursday is currently 'heavy', after 3.1mm of rain fell overnight.

The forecast is for a dry day both today and tomorrow.

Downpatrick remains soft to heavy (heavy in places) following a further 4mm of rain overnight.

The weather is fine at present (10.30am), and the first on a seven race jumping card gets underway just after mid-day at 12.05pm.

Clerk of the Course Brendan Sheridan said, "There was a steady drizzle during the night, and the ground will be testing. There are two dips on the track, approaching the straight and at the two and a quarter mile start, which are heavy.

"It is an amazing track as there is a bottom everywhere, and it can take alot of rain."
