Going updates for Punchestown A super renewal of the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase (3.00) is the highlight of an eight-race card at Punchestown today. Following 6mm of rain, the ground is now soft to heavy, heavy in places. There is fresh ground available on both tracks and it's set to be mainly dry with fresh winds. They will be racing on the inside hurdle track for the first circuit only and the first race, which is a chase over the banks course, is off at 11.43 am. Following 6mm of rain since declarations, the ground at Cork is now yielding to soft (Hurdle) & yielding, yielding to soft in places (Chase). There is a chance of scattered showers (1-3mm approx) and the first of eight races gets under way at 11.30 am. Looking ahead to Tuesday's meeting at Tramore, the ground there is now heavy, soft in places after 16mm of rain and it's set to be dry in the coming days.
