Today is a rare blank day on the Irish fixture list but racing resumes at Ballinrobe tomorrow afternoon with the John Mulhern Handicap Hurdle the highlight on an eight-race National Hunt card.

The going at the western venue is currently described as soft, with the weather forecast mainly dry over the next few days.

The action switches to the Flat at Naas on Wednesday with the ground remaining yielding to soft after some showers over the weekend.

The Curragh now hosts two meetings this week, with an extra meeting taking place on Thursday due to the loss of a fixture at Sligo earlier this month.

The ground at the Curragh, where racing also takes place on Sunday, remains yielding after 3.2mm of rain yesterday.

The jumpers will take centrestage at Downpatrick on Friday, and the going is currently good.
