Gold Set For Cheltenham Assignment Celestial Gold is on course to make his seasonal debut in the Letheby & Christopher Chase at Cheltenham later this month. Last season´s Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup winner has not raced since finishing seventh to Kicking King in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March. However, the eight-year-old was reported to be in good form by his owner David Johnson for his reappearance in the race on January 28, formerly known as the Pillar Property Chase. 'We´ve got that race at the end of January in mind for him. The plan is to go to Cheltenham and we´ll be a bit wiser after that. He´s fine, no problems,' said Johnson. 'He´s entered for the Gold Cup, as is Joacci and a couple of others. I might be lucky to get one there in one piece.' Celestial Gold, trained by Martin Pipe, is generally available at 16-1 for the totesport-sponsored Gold Cup.(C) PA Sport
