Jacksons Gold was produced with a well-timed run by Ian Power to land the spoils in the INH Stallion Owners EBF Rated Novice Hurdle at Thurles.

Alice Curran 's charge was held up out the back in the extended two-mile-six heat and was pushed along to close turning for home.

The Gold Well gelding stayed on to challenge running down to the final flight and a good leap there gave him a narrow advantage over Frontal Assault

He stuck on gamely in the closing stages to record a hard-fought half length success at odds of 7/2.

The winner had chased home a smart sort in Streets Of Doyen on his most recent outing at Cork last month. He was making it two wins from four starts today having won on debut at Roscommon.

"I'm delighted. He had a good run at Cork and we freshened him up since,” said Curran.

"Ian said he got hampered at a few hurdles but it all worked out in the end. He stayed on and is tough.

"He is very consistent and is a nice horse to have. We only have him and another young horse in training. Ian is local and helps us out."
