Golden Lilac takes French Oaks Golden Lilac (2-1) landed her second classic of the year in the Prix De Diane (French Oaks) at Chantilly. Andre Fabre's winner of the French 1000 Guineas at Longchamp also maintained her perfect record in the process as she showed a smart turn of foot to challenge from off the rail approaching the distance before drawing nicely clear to win cosily under Maxime Guyon. 11-8 favourite Galikova came from mid division after her pacemaker Polemique faded but she did not quite have the acceleration of the winner at a crucial point and could only stay on into second. Glorious Sight filled the frame in third place. Fabre and Guyon went on to cap a fantastic day by claiming the three Group Three races on the card. Mutual Trust landed the Prix Paul de Moussac, Kreem won the Prix du Lys and Byword, winner of last year's Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, captured the Prix Chemin du Fer. Fabre had five winners on the day as he also took the opening race with Monarch's Way.
