Goodie Two Shoes brings up three-timer in Fairyhouse feature A winner of her previous two starts in Listed company, the Joseph O'Brien trained Goodie Two Shoes took the step up in class in her stride when completing the hat-trick in the Group 3 Darley Irish EBF Stanerra Stakes (Fillies & Mares) at Fairyhouse. Having won twice on the Flat at the beginning of her career, the daughter of Fastnet Rock spent much of the last two seasons mixing it between hurdling and chasing. However, since reverting to the Flat at the start of this season, the J.P. McManus owned mare has really shown significant improvement. Tracking the pace here under Dylan Browne McMonagle, the 11/8f came through to challenge Drawn To Dream early in the straight. Edging to the front over a furlong out, the six-year-old had to battle hard before eventually getting on top close home to register a half-length success. Royal Entry kept on well in third to pick up valuable black type under Donagh O'Connor. Joseph O’Brien said: “In fairness to her she’s in the form of her life and I’d say fast ground is very important to her. “There is a Group 2 1m6f fillies race (Lillie Langtry) in Goodwood and we might look at going there next. It’s probably a logical step up the ladder. “It would be either that or the Curragh Cup, but it makes sense to stay against fillies. “There is a lovely programme of staying races for fillies so as long as the ground stays good she’ll be competitive in them.” Paddy Power — Lillie Langtry 11/2 (from 8/1) Additional reporting by Alan Magee.
