Goonyella is among the 41 entries to stand their ground for Saturday's Coral Welsh National at Chepstow.

Jim Dreaper's six-year-old was fifth in the Troytown on his most recent appearance and is towards the head of the ante-post market.

The weights are headed by last year's Lexus winner Tidal Bay, who is set to shoulder 11st 12lb in the stamina-sapping marathon, with the 12-year-old having to concede upwards of 10lb to all his rivals if he runs.

Next in the list is Teaforthree, who finished a creditable second 12 months ago before going on to be third behind Auroras Encore in the Grand National at Aintree.

Gary Moore's Well Refreshed currently heads the betting with the sponsors, and the Emma Lavelle-trained Highland Lodge, who finished fourth in the Hennessy, is also towards the fore.

Donald McCain has left in Sydney Paget, although he is also declared at Wetherby on Thursday, while other leading fancies include Hawkes Point and Merry King. Mountainous, Alfie Sherrin, De La Bech and Goulanes are other notable names still among the possibles.
