Gordon ready for Sha Tin test Connections of Gordon Lord Byron have been delighted with how the globetrotter has handled the long flight from Australia to Hong Kong. The Tom Hogan-trained six-year-old has arrived in the Far East in preparation for the Champions Mile at Sha Tin on Sunday. Gordon Lord Byron enjoyed a successful spell in Australia, winning the Group One George Ryder Stakes. Eddie Power, Hogan's assistant, said: "He's coped very well, really. He could nearly fly the plane himself now. "He's an amazing horse. He travels better than I do. He seems to love it away from home. He didn't lose much weight on the flight over to Hong Kong and he's licked out his feed bin. "He's in good order and hopefully he can run his race again come Sunday, but we're certainly not underestimating the quality of the opposition."
