Snap Click provided Curragh trainer Jim Gorman with a welcome winner when getting a nice run up the rail to justify favouritism in the Gowran Park Golf Club Societies Welcome Handicap. Dixie Highway set a solid pace in this mile event, and Kevin Manning was poised behind in the straight but just needed some space to challenge.

A gap eventually appeared on the rail as the leader edged slightly left, and the 9/2 favourite gladly took the opportunity.

A first winner in over a year for Gorman, Snap Click kept on well inside the final 100 yards to score by a length and a quarter with the consistent Sofi's Spirit another length and three quarters away in third.

Gorman said, "He had very bad draws the last two days but got the run of the race today, and Kevin (Manning) gave him a good ride and stuck to the rail.

"If you told me when he was a two-year-old that it would take him until now to win, I'd have been perturbed but we'll keep it simple now and go to Bellewstown next."
