Gowran eases after heavy rain After an slight improvement overnight the ground has now eased significantly at Gowran Park following heavy rain this morning. It is now reported to be soft to heavy at the Kilkenny venue. The going had been yielding to soft first thing this morning. Downpatrick, who stage their Ulster National meeting on Sunday, report that the ground is now yielding to soft, heavy in places. It was yielding, soft in places at declaration. The going at the Curragh remains soft to heavy following 3mm of rain. The ground at Cork is now soft to heavy ahead of their meeting next Thursday. There was 8mm of rain overnight in Mallow, following on from 15mm of rain on Thursday.
