Michael O'Callaghan's Gozen is set to head straight to the Curragh for the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas.

The Kurashiro filly ran twice in her juvenile campaign and got off the mark in a fillies' maiden at Punchestown in September.

She was subsequently pitched into the Group 3 Staffordstown Stud Stakes at the Curragh the following month and stayed on well over the mile trip to come in second.

The form of that race has been franked by the third who came out and landed a Group 3 on her next start.

O’Callaghan said: “Gozen will go straight for the Irish 1,000 Guineas (on May 28th).

“She has wintered very well and I’m very happy with her.

“She is a filly that probably shouldn’t have been able to do what she did last year. She is 16.2 and a big, raw filly.

“She is very clear-winded and does everything very easy. She will go straight for the Guineas with no prep.”
