Emmet Mullins is thinking of switching St Stephens Green back to the Flat at Galway next week.

The winner of a valuable handicap hurdle at Killarney in May, the six-year-old is entered for the Guinness Galway Hurdle next Thursday, but his young trainer is not confident of getting a run.

He said: "I'd imagine he'll struggle to get a run in the hurdle. He is 30th on the list so I'd doubt he'll get a run in that.

"He could possibly go for the big race on the Monday night (the Connacht Hotel Qualified Riders Handicap).

"He has one run and one win on the Flat so we'd be very hopeful. He is only rated 77 on the Flat and I have no one in mind to ride him yet.

"He had a very nice run at the Festival last year in a handicap hurdle. Heartbreak City beat him there and he went on to win the Ebor. It wouldn't be the worst track for him in the world.

"I might have one other runner at the Festival. Peacocks Secret will probably go for the bumper over two-mile-two on the Thursday.

"The Mees (St Stephens Green's owners) have bought him since his last run."
