Ground Doubts For Derby Favourite Michael Bell has warned that firm ground could rule ante-post favourite Motivator out of the Vodafone Derby. The unbeaten Montjeu colt has been at the head of the betting for the blue riband since he won the totesport Dante Stakes at York last month and is a general 5-2 shot for the premier Classic on Saturday. However, his three wins have been gained on soft going. 'We are desperately keen to run the horse at Epsom but if the ground is not satisfactory he won´t go there - this horse has got a big future,' Bell told At The Races. 'I think it is an unlikely scenario. We are keen to run at Epsom. It´s the last resort to go to France for the French Derby but it is a possibility if the ground isn´t right.' ? PA Sport
