Ground remains quick despite rain

The ground remains good to firm on day five of the Galway Festival despite 6mm of rain since yesterday's Galway Hurdle card.

"We had 4mm overnight and another couple today. It has just left the ground perfect, and still plenty fast enough. The forecast for the next few days is quite good," said manager John Moloney.

There are a couple of significant non-runners for this evening's meeting. Likely favourite Alfa Beat (lame) has been scratched from the Guinness Galway Blazers Handicap Chase.

Fancied pair Pointilliste (ground) and Myrine (off feed) have both been taken out of the concluding 1m6f conditions race.
