Mick Halford believes the future is bright for both Massiyn and Blue Corner after both ran with credit in Thursday's Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown.

Massiyn turned in a career-best effort to finish second to Galileo's Choice in the Group Three test, while his stable companion Blue Corner was fifth of the eight runners.

While future plans have yet to be finalised, both horses are in the mix for the Irish St Leger later in the campaign.

"I was delighted with the pair of them, Massiyn ran a tremendous race for a three-year-old. I thought it was an above average Group Three and he gave a very good account of himself," said Halford.

"Blue Corner was further back but I thought he ran a blinder for a horse having just the third run of his life and he would definitely prefer a bit better ground.

"Both of them are in the Irish St Leger Trial later in the month and in the Irish St Leger itself, so we'll see how they both come out of the race and make a plan."
