Halford looks to move Kalaxana up in class Kalaxana will try to continue her brisk improvement when she steps up to Group Three company for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Give Thanks Stakes at Cork. The three-year-old filly has progressed from victories in a maiden to a handicap and a Listed race in her last three starts, all in the space of five weeks. Trainer Michael Halford is now looking to give the Aga Khan-owned daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar the chance to improve her standing further. “She’s doing good. The plan is to take her to Cork for the Group Three, the Give Thanks Stakes on August 11,” said Halford. “She’s a lovely filly, with plenty of scope. She took a bit of time to come to hand and once she started progressing she’s put together three good wins now. “Hopefully there’s more to come. She’s got the scope, size and pedigree to go on, so we’ll see how we go.”
