Anamba is set to run at Naas on Sunday after being a late withdrawal from the Irish 1,000 Guineas due to the rain-softened ground.

The lightly-raced daughter of Shamardal will make her seasonal debut in the Listed Owenstown Stud Stakes as long as the ground is suitable.

"We didn't run her because of the ground the other day. She's in at Naas, she's in good form and she'll take her chance as long as the ground stays good," said her trainer, Michael Halford.

"She got big and strong over the winter but took a bit of time to come to hand with the wet and miserable spring. Now she's ready to start."

Anamba, owned by Godolphin, defeated Coolmore on her debut at Leopardstown in September and was beaten half a length by that filly in the Group Three Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh on her only other start later that month.

She holds Group One entries in the Coronation Stakes, the Sea The Stars Pretty Polly Stakes and the Darley Irish Oaks.
