Halford outlines Dubai plans Michael Halford is planning to send a mixture of old hands and new recruits to Dubai this winter. Leading his raid are old soldiers Certerach and Russian Soul, who did the Co. Kildare trainer proud with victories in the Group Two Dubai Gold Cup and Group Three Al Shindagha Sprint respectively. Eastern Rules, who won two handicaps at Meydan in February, is on the road to recovery following a setback and is also set to return. The seasoned trio will be accompanied by new kids on the block - Kernoff, Slipper Orchid and Castle Guest. "We'll have three of them from last year and three new ones hopefully this year. Kernoff may go, Slipper Orchid and we'll send Castle Guest I think as well," he told At The Races. "The penny is dropping with Kernoff. He was getting outpaced in his races, but he's learning how to sprint now and we were impressed with him last week (at Dundalk). He has earned his ticket. "Russian Soul and Certerach and Eastern Rules are the ones from last year. Eastern Rules had a setback but he's back doing light cantering now. Hopefully the three of them will go back again."
