Hali Primed For Japanese Raid Halicarnassus pleased connections during a workout on the main track at Kyoto racecourse ahead of his run in the Japan Cup on Sunday.Big-race rider Darryll Holland teamed up with the Mick Channon-trained three-year-old for the spin.'Darryll is very pleased with the way the horse went. We need luck, as everybody does, and the Japanese horses look very strong, but we're in to win,' said Channon. The West Ilsley-based handler took the wide draw, 17 in a field of 18, on the chin.'The draw could have been kinder but we'll have to live with it,' he went on.'He breaks from 17 and will need to work his way into it. At least there should be time for Darryll to get him wound-up for his run.'The facilities here are great. It's a real good track with a three furlong straight and that's what we want for Halicarnassus,' Channon told his website, www.mickchannon.tv.(C) PA Sport
