Irish apprentices completed a one-two in the Prix Longines Future Racing Stars Claimer on French Oaks day at Chantilly.

The nine-furlong race is an invitation event for young riders from around the world, and the star of the show was Gary Halpin, who helped Cantabrico win by a length and a half from Gary Phillips' mount Lumumba.

Halpin is based with Kevin Prendergast, for whom he has ridden four winners, while Phillips has been riding predominately for Garvan Donnelly this season.

Also involved in the race were Australian Jessica Payne and British apprentice Jordan Vaughan, both of whom were unplaced.
