Hamilton next up for Carbon Dating Carbon Dating is set to have his sights lowered significantly on his next start after running with credit in the Investec Derby at Epsom last Saturday. Pat Shanahan's colt was a rank outsider for the premier Classic as a 150-1 shot, but was far from disgraced in finishing eighth of the 12 runners. The County Kilkenny-based trainer is now targeting a Scottish maiden later this month as the next target for his charge. Shanahan said: "He ran a good race at Epsom. If you take the first two out of it, he was only beaten six lengths. "The plan is to go for a maiden at Hamilton on June 25. We won the race with Maid Of The Glens last year and the owner is from Glasgow, so it works out well. "I'm very pleased with the horse." Shanahan also revealed his smart juvenile Taexali has been moved to the powerhouse stables of Dermot Weld. A winner at Brighton on his penultimate start, the son of Raven's Pass wasn't far behind leading Royal Ascot hope Round Two when fifth in last month's Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh.
