Hannon pair given a break Richard Hannon will give Tiggy Wiggy and Ivawood some midsummer downtime following disappointing efforts at Royal Ascot last month. Tiggy Wiggy won six times during a fantastic juvenile campaign last season and looked a major contender for the inaugural Commonwealth Cup after finishing third in the 1000 Guineas, but trailed home well beaten. Ivawood was considered one of the bankers of the meeting in the Jersey Stakes, having placed third behind Gleneagles in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Irish equivalent, but looked a shadow of his former self. The champion trainer is hopeful both horses will show their true colours after a break. He said: " I think the ground was probably a little bit quick for Tiggy Wiggy. We scoped her when she came back and there was nothing wrong with her. "She might have just turned in a bad run, which she was due to do. "She was a very good two-year-old and had a fair bit of racing and I would say, like Ivawood, she had a hard race in the Classic. "They both had hard races and finished third and they take a bit of getting over. "We'll give her a little break now and wait until the ground comes right and probably stay at six furlongs." Hannon feels Ivawood could be a Breeders' Cup contender if he comes back to his best, but has challenged him to firstly prove it on the track. "He (Ivawood) is having a break, too. There's lot of nice races for him, lots of nice races in France," the trainer told At The Races. "We'll just get him back. I've no question he's a very good horse, but he's got to prove it. "Physically he couldn't look any better and I have a feeling he'll come back towards the end of the year and then we might look at something like that (Breeders' Cup)."
