Harasiya steps up in trip Harasiya will try a mile and a half for the first time in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Give Thanks Stakes at Cork after connections decided against at tilt at the Darley Irish Oaks. A two-time winner during her juvenile year, John Oxx's filly signed off her season with a fine third behind Sky Lantern in the Moyglare Stud Stakes. Although she ran no sort of race on her return to action in the Irish 1,000 Guineas, she performed far more creditably when beaten little over a length into fourth in the Group One Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last month. The daughter of Pivotal is now set to step up to a mile and a half for the first time on August 6. Oxx said: "We did consider the Irish Oaks, but we would have had to have supplemented, it looked a strong race and while she goes on fast ground, I think she prefers it softer. Considering everything we decided to give her a bit more time. "The plan now is to run her in the Give Thanks Stakes at Cork, which gives us the opportunity to stretch her out over a mile and a half. "Being by Pivotal, it will be interesting to see how she gets on over that distance and it will tell us a lot about where we're going with her. She definitely wants beyond a mile. "She seems in good shape and if she can improve a bit on her last run we'll be very happy."
