Harchibald & Sizing Europe may head to Punchestown

Harchibald and Sizing Europe could lock horns in Thursday's Grade Three Buck House Novice Chase at Punchestown.

Noel Meade's five-time Grade One-winning hurdler Harchibald may be a 10-year-old but he is being prepared for his first season over the larger obstacles.

The trainer said: "I think Harchibald is more likely to run than the rest of them as I have four entered in it at the minute. It does look a very hot race but it isn't easy to find a race for him and Punchestown is a nice track and the ground looks like it could be nice."

He added: "The fact that Henry de Bromhead's horse is in it is just making me wonder a bit, but at the same time we have to go somewhere and he is in good form.

"His schooling seems to have gone quite well and we're very happy with the way he's jumped at home, so we'll just have to see how he goes on the track.

"I actually thought he might be too sharp for fences but he seems good."
