Jessica Harrington is looking forward to seeing Supasundae take on Apple’s Jade once more in the Squared Financial Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown.

Supasundae enjoyed an excellent campaign last season, winning the Irish Champion Hurdle and the Punchestown Champion Hurdle as well as placing in five other Grade One events — including the Stayers’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.

He was 11 lengths behind Apple’s Jade when third in last year’s Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse, but closed the gap to just half a length in this three-mile contest 12 months ago.

Supasundae was again no match for Gordon Elliott’s brilliant mare when she completed a Hatton’s Grace hat-trick at the start of the month — finishing some 20 lengths behind in second — but the pair will lock horns once more next Friday.

Harrington said: “I think Supasundae is going to take on Apple’s Jade again if they go three miles with her, so that will be a bit of fun.

“He always takes a run, and I’m happy with him. He’ll go there and try to do his best.”
