Walk To Freedom gave Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power a Navan double in somewhat fortuitous circumstances.

The 6/4 favourite looked booked for a place at best as Edwulf galloped on by a few lengths coming to the final fence of the beginners' chase. However, his landing gear failed to function and he fell leaving the spoils at the mercy of Walk To Freedom and Mckinley

It was Walk To Freedom who stayed on stoutly to prevail by four lengths from Mckinley (9/4). Domesday Book (5/1) finished half a length further back in third.

“He got lucky but he did actually quicken up well after the last,” Jessica Harrington said.

“Robbie said he ran a bit on his nerves. He was much better the last day. He's not straightforward.

“They didn't go quick enough for him. If they go a good gallop, he's much better and relaxes more.

“If you get him to relax he has a very good turn of foot. He's not a two mile horse, he's a two-and-a-half mile horse. He got caught for toe down the hill but when he met the rising ground he ran on.

“It's great to get Brian Kearney back in the winners enclosure. I got him back into horses by getting him into this syndicate (Whole of the Moone Syndicate).”
