Harty has Christmas options for Coney Island Edward Harty is looking towards possible Christmas targets with Coney Island following his recent seasonal bow at Navan. The seven-year-old was third behind Apple's Jade in the Lismullen Hurdle earlier this month on what was his first outing over the smaller obstacles since finishing second in a Punchestown Grade One in April 2016. Coney Island won the 2016 Drinmore during his novice-chasing campaign but has suffered his problems in the interim - and after making a decent start last term, he was pulled up in both subsequent runs. Harty was more than satisfied with Coney Island's hurdles return, but could look to go back over fences on his next outing. He told At The Races: "He's great. I was very, very pleased with his run here the last day - he's back to himself again. "We didn't go for the John Durkan, so we'll look for something around Christmas. It will probably be (over) fences, we haven’t decided yet, but something at Christmas and hopefully something fairly good."
