Harty has ground concerns for Dark

Sabrina Harty fears conditions will be too testing for Won In the Dark in the Limestone Lad Hurdle at Naas on Saturday.

However, the plan is still to run the seven-year-old in the Grade Three contest unless a lot more rain falls overnight.

"He's not a soft-ground horse as he showed at Leopardstown the last day. The ground is still heavy, but he hasn't many options so he'll probably take his chance," said the County Kildare trainer.

"If it was good ground he'd be a different horse, but on this ground I don't think he's any chance. He's such a small horse that he can't quicken on this ground.

"He has plenty of speed and can quicken on good ground but he can't do that when it's heavy. If they don't get too much rain overnight he'll take his chance.

"We just hope it dries up at some stage."

Dessie Hughes also played down the chances of his two runners, Siegemaster and Vic Venturi.

"It's just a sharpener for Vic Venturi before the Hennessy," he said Hughes.

"Stonemaster would probably prefer a bit further, but we'll see."
