Last year's winner Postponed and Derby hero Harzand are the standout names among 39 entries for the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 23.

Sponsored by Qipco, the Group One saw Postponed announce himself on the big stage last season when he beat Eagle Top by the narrowest of margins.

He was sent out by Luca Cumani that day but has since switched to Roger Varian's yard and has won all three starts for his new handler, including the Coronation Cup last Saturday.

Dermot Weld's Harzand proved himself pick of the three-year-old crop on Saturday and may get the chance to prove himself against his elders.

Aidan O'Brien has the likes of Guineas and Oaks winner Minding, French Guineas winner The Gurkha, Order Of St George and the second and third from the Derby, US Army Ranger and Idaho, in the mix.

Owner Khalid Abdullah has entered New Bay, Exosphere and Time Test, who has yet to run over a mile and a half.

"Time Test is good after winning nicely at Sandown. We were very pleased with him and he now goes for the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot," said Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe.

"As far as he is concerned, I would say the King George is just a precautionary entry. He could stay a mile and a half and we just wanted to have that covered, but primarily we feel he is 10-furlong horse."

The Grey Gatsby, Cannock Chase, Wings Of Desire and Eagle Top are other notable entries.
