Hat-trick proves no problem for Ridge

Elusive Ridge notched his hat-trick in great style at Dundalk tonight as he recorded a cosy victory in the conditions race.

Pat Smullen bounced the 8/15 favourite out in front and he quickened well down the straight to land the spoils.

The Harry Rogers-trained gelding, who was winning for the third week running, had two-and-a-quarter lengths to spare over Jamesie at the line.

"He's been a great servant," said Rogers afterwards.

"I thought he might get touched off for a minute but he quickened well. He loves that fast surface.

"The horses are going well and we're having a bit of luck."
