Haven makes it third time lucky Ballydoyle filly Haven made all for a convincing success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Dundalk. Wayne Lordan bounced out in front on the well-backed 6/4 favourite in the seven furlong contest and the daughter of Wootton Bassett was asked for an effort a furlong-and-a-half from home. She drifted slightly left just inside the final furlong but asserted late on to post a three-length win over Castilian Queen. It was a third career outing for the Aidan O’Brien-trained Haven, who had been runner-up at Cork 16 days ago. Stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "She's a very sweet filly. "Galway the first day was a good education for her. She stepped forward nicely into Cork the last day and ran a lovely race. " She’s a good-moving filly, so we thought she would handle the surface here. "She's a filly that will appreciate going up in trip. She has a very good attitude and will be a lovely filly for next year. "We’ll possibly get one more run into her, in maybe something like the Silken Glider at the Curragh over a mile. "She's a filly that whatever she does this year will be a bonus. "Wayne gave her a lovely ride from the front and set a good tempo to make staying her forte." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
