Heavily backed 1/1 favourite Missy Tata made an impressive winning Irish debut at Down Royal today, landing the opening Value Cabs 3-Y-O Hurdle for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Bryan Cooper.

The French bred mare was easy to back in the morning but a late plunge saw the daughter of Astarabads price collapse from 7/4 in to even money.

In the race Missy Tata travelled strongly and readily went clear from two out and in the end socred an easy 19 lengths win over Lake Champlain

Afterwards Elliott said "she's a lovely big filly, I'd say she'll come on a bit and I'd say she is smart."

"There's a Listed mares' race at Aintree in December that we might look at but she wouldn't want the ground any better than that. She did it very easily."
