Ernest Hemingway will represent Aidan O'Brien in the Boodles Diamond Ormonde Stakes at Chester on Friday.

The Ballydoyle handler has a fine record in the Group Three contest on the Roodee, having won it three times in the last six years, with Macarthur, Memphis Tennessee and the brilliant St Nicholas Abbey.

Ernest Hemingway, who has already won twice at Group Three level, at the Curragh and Leopardstown, has had a run this year, when beaten just over four lengths into eighth place in the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan at the end of March.

Among the opposition will be the locally trained Brown Panther, who makes his seasonal reappearance having run a respectable race in the Melbourne Cup when he was last seen, finishing eighth, beaten just over seven lengths by Fiorente.

Sir Michael Stoute runs Dubai disappointment Hillstar, who steps back up in trip having won the King Edward VII at Royal Ascot last year.

Marco Botti's Mount Athos won the race last season, when trained by Luca Cumani, and is back again.

Last year's Cheshire Oaks winner Banoffee, trained by Hughie Morrison, and Clive Brittain's Jathabah are the two fillies who make up the field.
