Henderson novice chasers impress

Solix was an easy winner of the Ryman Stationery Cheltenham Business Club Novices' Chase.

The even money favourite ran out an easy winner of the two mile five contest under Barry Geraghty, coming home 12 lengths clear of Sybarite.

However, things could have been very different for Nicky Henderson's charge had main market rival Sam Winner stood up but Paul Nicholls' four year old came to grief at the third last when stalking the first two home.

The four year old had jumped better than that pair up to that point but his first mistake of the contest proved to be his last and he gave Ruby Walsh no chance.

Solix readily picked up the front-running Sybarite thereafter with Tricky Tree completing in a distant third and earned a quote of 14-1 (from 16s) for the Jewson Novices' Chase from Stan James.

Then won Sprinter Sacre impressively won at Doncaster. More to follow.
