Henderson says Sir Gino ‘doing well’ since Cheltenham Nicky Henderson hopes to welcome Sir Gino back to Seven Barrows next week to continue his recovery from the fractured pelvis he suffered at Cheltenham on Saturday. The previously unbeaten six-year-old was pulled up sharply by Nico de Boinville in the Unibet Hurdle and while the silenced crowd initially feared the worst, he was able to walk into the horse ambulance before being transported to Three Counties Equine Hospital. Positive bulletin as Sir Gino begins recovery Henderson on Wednesday issued a positive update on his well-being, telling Sky Sports Racing: “He’s doing well, I spoke to them (veterinarians) again. They’re very good – we get bulletins all day and night, which is great. “He’s had another comfortable night and is weight-bearing on that off-hind leg, which is very good news. “We are hopeful they’ll be able to pop him back in the ambulance and bring him back to Seven Barrows sometime next week.” Henderson, who said on Sunday it was not out of the question Sir Gino may be able to race again one day, added: “The prognosis for the future… they say you won’t really know the true extent of it for maybe three or four months.”
