Hills targeting Temple Stakes for Battaash Charlie Hills is aiming to start Battaash in the Temple Stakes at Haydock in May before the star sprinter heads to Royal Ascot for the King's Stand Stakes. The Lambourn handler reports last year's Prix de l'Abbaye hero to have wintered well and is looking forward to the new campaign. "Battaash is great. We've not worked him yet and the plan is to run him in the Temple Stakes at this stage. There is a nice gap then to Ascot," said Hills. "He is about an inch and a half taller than last year and about 30 kilograms heavier at the moment. I would like to try him over six furlongs at some stage, but I will have to speak to the owner." Hills also revealed plans for two of his other stable starts, Magical Memory, who was a recent visitor to Dubai, and promising three-year-old Wafy. "I will probably run Magical Memory in the Abernant next (at Newmarket). He came back from Dubai and only lost three kilograms. He came back the Monday after the race," he said. "Wafy will run at Sandown in either the Classic Trial or the Esher Cup. This one won't mind a bit of cut. "He has been great, he has been in all winter and has been cantering since the New Year. I was really pleased with the way he worked at Lingfield this week."
