The bookmakers are 'knocking it out of the park' in recent hours on Irish tracks with Hilltown Gal s 25/1 win in the Barclay Landline EBF Maiden at Down Royal, the latest in a list of surprise wins this evening.

The Pat Martin trained filly, who was providing her jockey Ian Brennan with a first winner since last March, was the third 25/1 winner along with another 16/1 victor, from eight races run (with no favourite succeeding thus far) at both Tramore and the northern track today.

After Hilltown Gal's half length success, Martin stated “she actually ran well in Naas; she didn't quite get the six furlongs but ran well to a point.

“Ian (Brennan) said they went quick enough here so he left her alone and she picked up. She's not too bad and five furlongs is plenty for her but she mightn't want fast ground. The only disappointment was this wasn't a Racing Post Bonus Race as she is qualified for that!”
