Hobbs set for Newmarket return Irish Derby winner Jack Hobbs will make his seasonal reappearance at the Newmarket Guineas meeting. Trainer John Gosden has earmarked the Group Two Jockey Club Stakes as his starting point in preparation for a crack at the Coronation Cup on Derby day at Epsom. John Ferguson, Godolphin's chief executive and racing manager, told www.godolphin.com: "I spoke to John (Gosden), who also said he wanted to have Jack Hobbs running in Dubai this time next year, in the mile and a half race at Meydan (Sheema Classic on Dubai World Cup day)." Jack Hobbs was last seen finishing third in the Champion Stakes behind Fascinating Rock. Ferguson also had news of a couple of smart Richard Fahey-trained three-year-olds. "Birchwood (narrowly beaten at the Breeders' Cup) could go for the German 2000 Guineas, and Ribchester (Mill Reef winner) for the English or French 2000 Guineas," Ferguson added.
