Hogan has Listowel target for Allegio Allegio is having a well-earned break after several fine efforts in Listed and Group company before being prepared for more races at Pattern level. Trainer Denis Hogan is targeting the Listowel Stakes over nine furlongs at the County Kerry venue on September 10th as the first port of call for the five-year-old. Runner-up in Listed races at the Curragh and Leopardstown, Allegio was a creditable fourth to Yucatan in the Group Three Finlay Volvo International Stakes back at the Curragh four weeks ago. "He's on a little break. There's a good programme for him in the autumn when there's a bit of juice in the ground," said Hogan. "He’s going to start back at Listowel in a Listed race. That would be a stepping stone for a Group Three over a mile and a quarter later on."
