Hogan on the mark at Musselburgh Denis Hogan was on the mark at Musselburgh this afternoon as he guided My Painter to victory in the second division of the Racing UK Day Pass Just 10 Maiden Hurdle. Making his debut over flights and fitted with a hood for the first time, the son of Jeremy, who Hogan also trains, was sent off a 13/2 chance in the colours of the Premier Racing Club. Prominent throughout he hit the front on the approach to the last and kept on well under pressure on the run-in, holding off the challenge of Cartage by a neck. Hogan had to settle for second with Eiri Na Casca in the Alex Donaldson Handsome Handicap Chase, while his other two runners on the card were fourth (Easy To Find) and sixth (Hunters Vision) respectively. Dublin trainer Paul Stafford sent across three horses to the Scottish venue with two of them finishing second. The Jonathan Moore ridden Moonlone Lane (6/1) was six lengths off Shrewd in the Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap Hurdle, while Moore also partnered Fenlon's Hill (25/1) to a second place finish in the concluding Watch Racing UK On 3 Devices Standard Open NH Flat Race. Elsewhere on the card Mark McNiff and Karl Thornton were out of luck with their runners.
