Horse for courses for Ryan's mare Sligo’s Brenda Anderson Memorial Handicap Chase over two miles, five furlongs saw the Michael Kenneally-partnered Andyourbirdcansing (14/1) record her third win at the western venue. The Court Cave eight-year-old, owned by The We Win Farming Syndicate, made all and saw off fellow outsider Dunany Point by two and a quarter lengths, notching a first win over fences in the process. Winning trainer John Ryan enthused “I’m delighted for Oliver Broderick who bred this mare. His son Jack is involved in a lot of syndicates with me. “This mare hasn’t been the easiest to train, and has had bits and pieces of issues. Oliver has been a great supporter of mine for many years and has been very patient. “She’s won a maiden hurdle, handicap hurdle and has now won over fences, which will make her a valuable broodmare. “She’s had a few unfortunate falls, but I actually think she’s much better over fences than hurdles, She shows more at home than she has brought to the track and, hopefully, she can win another one or two chases. “We’ll still mix it though, and she might come back here for a hurdle race at the next meeting.”
