Jessica Harrington has confirmed Hotazhell as a definite runner for Saturday's Royal Bahrain Champion Stakes at Leopardstown.

A Group One winner at two and third in the Irish 2000 Guineas in May, the Too Darn Hot colt was unlucky-in-running on his latest start when fourth in the Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes in early August.

Hotazhell is amongst the outsiders at present and is available at 33/1 in places.

Harrington told journalist Dave Keena yesterday: "I'm delighted with him. He came back from America well and has trained very well since. He worked this morning (Tuesday) and I was very happy with him.

"I think good ground will be just perfect for him and I think there's a little bit of rain forecast, so I don't think it will dry out completely. I think a mile and a quarter is probably his ideal trip.

"Things just didn't go right in Saratoga. He just got a little bit too far back and, when he wanted to make his run, he got stopped and was a fast-finishing fourth. Anyway, that's history now and we'll look forward to Saturday and I'm really looking forward to running him."

"It's a meeting we've done well at before (three winners in 2021) and more of the same would be great."
