Group 1-winning juvenile Hotazhell returns to the Curragh on Sunday, a course where the Jessica Harrington-trained colt was placed in last year’s 2,000 Guineas and gained a Beresford Stakes success last year.

The son of Too Darn Hot landed Doncaster’s Futurity Trophy Stakes as a two-year-old, when defeating Delacroix by a nose, and while he failed to win last year, contested five top-level races and finished third in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.

The four-time winner was demoted from runner-up to third-place on his seasonal return in Navan’s Listed Hill Of Tara Stakes on June 7 and is now set to step back up to Group company on Sunday.

Hotazhell holds entries for the upcoming Eclipse Stakes at Sandown (in July) and the Irish Champion Stakes (September) and Harrington reports “Hotazhell will run on Sunday in the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free International Stakes.

“He was very ring rusty the first day and we might try cheekpieces on him.

“The ground should be lovely.”
