Hours on the road pay off for Tyner's mare

By The Hour justified the long trek from her base at Robert Tyner's yard in Shippool, Kinsale when she landed the Cleveragh Road Handicap Steeplechase under Philip Enright (lost his right to claim) at Sligo.

The victorious daughter of Flemensfirth, having her first start in a handicap on her return from a 177 day break, battled well on the run-in to get the better of Rumreelic (6/1 into 4/1) by half a length. That pair left Peak Raider three parts of a length further back in third.

Enright said: "It was her first run for a while and she should improve a bit from it. She should be suited by bigger fences."

By The Hour now adds this win to successes achieved in the point-to-point field and in handicap hurdle company. She should make a nice broodmare for connections when her racing days are finished.
