Hughes - high praise for Dick Turpin Richard Hughes says he would find it difficult to choose between Canford Cliffs and Dick Turpin should the two race each other again. Richard Hannon's pair have picked up three Group One races between them so far this season with Dick Turpin breaking his duck at the top level in the Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly on Sunday. Canford Cliffs' Group One wins came in the Irish 2000 Guineas and the St James's Palace Stakes, with stablemate Dick Turpin one length behind at Royal Ascot. That was the third time the pair had met this season, with Dick Turpin finishing ahead of Canford Cliffs in the Greenham at Newbury and the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. Every time the two had met this season Hughes plumped for Canford Cliffs, but that doesn't mean he would do so again if the duo met later in the campaign. The jockey told At The Races: "I don't know to be honest. Canford needs everything to go right for him where as Dick Turpin is very straight forward. "I'm glad he won like he did yesterday as people might've said it was a weak Group One otherwise, but he did it very well." Dick Turpin could go back to France for the Prix du Moulin and the Prix de la Foret in the autumn, but Hughes says the Juddmonte International at York could be ideal for him. He continued: "It would be an option for him. An easy 10 furlongs around York would be fine for Dick Turpin."
