Richard Hughes won his fourth straight Glorious Goodwood Top Jockey Award on the final day of the summer festival.

Hughes has an exceptional recent record at Glorious Goodwood. He rode a record-breaking nine winners in 2010, five in 2011 and four last year.

This week, he had another incredible eight winners. He receives a lifetime subscription to Racing UK, a £1,000 donation to the charity of his choice, and a deluxe Goodwood hamper following yet another brilliant meeting.

Hughes said, after receiving his award: "It has been a fabulous week.

"Toronado, in the QIPCO Sussex Stakes, was without doubt the highlight. Wednesday was the best day of my career and I have never had a more enjoyable experience.

"The Markel Insurance Nassau Stakes did not go so well today because Sky Lantern was the best filly in the race but she did not win.

"She was unlucky and remembered the slap across the face she got at Newmarket which made it difficult as did the interference. She stayed the 10 furlongs."
