Having arguably been an unlucky loser at Listowel last month, the Gerard O'Leary trained Iamimmaculate gained some measure of compensation when staying on well to win the 1xBet.ie Proud Supporters Of Irish Racing Handicap at the Curragh.

Beat a head last time when his rider mistook the winning post and eased up close home, the three-year-old landed a second career success here.

Sent off 5/1 under Declan McDonogh, the son of Coulsty was held up in mid division before moving closer to track the leaders over a furlong out.

Staying on strongly inside the final furlong, Iamimmaculate led close home to beat Benevento by three-quarters-of-a-length.

Gerard O'Leary said: "Declan gave him a beautiful ride. Gave him plenty of cover and got there late. It looked tight but he said he always had them covered. I'm delighted with that. He said we can step him up to a mile-and-a-half if we want. He loved the ground."
