Ile de France rings up brace of winners for O'Brien and Lordan Aidan O'Brien and Wayne Lordan doubled up at Dundalk through Ile de France in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden over a mile. The 4/5 favourite held the box seat in a tracking second behind Equus Victor and Lordan sent him on over a furlong out. Moliere (12/1) came with his challenge inside the final furlong and kept the favourite honest before giving best by a neck. Newcomer Aachen (12/1), a stablemate of Ile De France, finished well in third, a length and three-quarters off the runner-up. Lordan said: "We had a lovely run (fifth, on debut at Naas). At the time, he felt like he was ready to run and that was the nearest race to us, so he got started. Naas can be a stiff six (furlongs) and he finished off really well. "We always felt this was sort of his trip. We thought coming here today that the trip wouldn't be a problem "He went through the race very well for me today. When I got there, I felt he had a look but in the last 50 yards I always felt I was holding on. "Mentally, I think there is improvement to come from him. "I think it is (mile is an optimum trip at the minute) - I wouldn't be going any further and, if needs be, he could come back a furlong if he wanted." Lordan and O'Brien also teamed up with Institute (11/8f) in the opener.
